Sweet Potato Payasam / Chilagadadumpa Payasam

Ingredients :

  • 1 cup grated Sweet Potato
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 11/2 cup Milk
  • 2 sp Dry Fruits
  • 1 pinch Elaichi Powder
  • 1 sp Ghee

Method :

  • Heat ghee in a pan add grated sweet potato and stir.
  • When it tender add 1/2 cup water and cook.
  • When done add sugar, milk and cook on low flame.
  • Continue to cook for couple of mins and take off the flame. 
  • Add elaichi powder, dry fruits and serve.
  • It's tasty and easy to make, serve cool or normal.

Sweet Potato Pomegranate Seeds Salad

  • 1 no Sweet Potato
  • 1/2 cup Pomegranate Seeds
  • 1/2 Tomato finely chopped
  • 1/4 sp Chat Masala Powder
  • 1/4 sp Cumin Powder
  • 1 sp Lemon Juice
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1/2 sp Oil

Preparation :

  • Cook chilagadadumpa & remove the skin & chop into small pieces.
  • Mix cumin, chat masala powder, salt, oil & lemon juice in a small bowl.
  • Take a bowl & add pomegranate seeds, chopped sweet potato & mix well.
  • Next add masala mix and mix gently and place it in the fridge.
  • Before serve add chopped tomato pieces and serve.

Sweet Potato Snack / Chilagadadumpa Snack

Ingredients :

  • 2 nos Sweet Potatoes
  • 1/4 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/8 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 Red Chilli crocked
  • Curry Leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 sp Oil

Method :

  • Wash and cut chilagadadumpa into thin rounds.
  • Heat oil in a pan add popu and fry, next add curry leaves.
  • Add chopped sweet potato pieces, salt and stir well.
  • sprinkle little water and mix well, cook on low flame.
  • Cover the pan with a steel plate & pour 1/2 cup water in the plate.
  • Steam cook for 10-12 mins on low flame, keep stirring in middle.
  • When done remove from fire and transfer into a serving bowl.
  • Chilgadadumpa snack is ready to serve.

Sweet Potato Laddu

Ingredients :

  • 2 nos Sweet Potatoes
  • 4 dry Khajur deseeded
  • 1/4 cup dessicated Coconut Powder
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • few Cashews
  • 2  Elaichis 

Preparation :

  • Wash and boil sweet potatoes in pressure cooker.
  • let it cool for some time and remove the skin & mash it.
  • Grind sugar along with khajur and elaichi.
  • Combain mashed potato, ground powder.
  • Mix well and make laddu with cashews.
  • Pour coconut powder onto a plate.
  • Dust with powdered coconut and make laddus.
  • Place them in the fridge for 10-15mins and serve.
  • Yummy yummy laddus are ready to eat.

Sweet Potato Sweet

Ingredients :

  • 3 nos Sweet Potatoes
  • 1 cup grated Jaggery
  • 1 pinch Elaichi Powder

Method :

  • Wash and cook sweet potatoes on stove top or pressure cooker.
  • Let it cool for some time, now cut them into small rounds & keep aside.
  • Heat a pan and add jagerry with little water to a boil for pakam.
  • Then add elaichi powder, cooked pieces and stir carefully.
  • Mix them well & remove from fire, let it cool for couple of mins.
  • Now transfer into a serving bowl and serve them.

Chikkudu Ginjala Kura / Indian Broad Bean Seeds Curry

Ingredients :

  • 1 cup  Fresh Chikkudu Ginjalu
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 1 Tomato chopped
  • 2 Green Chillies chopped
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • 2 sp Peanuts
  • 1 sp Coriander Seeds
  • 2 sp grated Dry Coconut
  • 3 Garlic Cloves
  • Salt to taste

For Popu :

  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • 1 Red Chilli crocked
  • Coriander Leaves
  • Curry Leaves
  • 2 sp Oil

Preparation :

  • Wash and pressure cook chikkudu ginjalu with salt & keep aside.
  • Heat a khadai and add peanuts, coriander seeds and dry roast.
  • Grind into a coarse powder along with garlic and dry coconut.
  • Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry for about 2mins.
  • Next add curry leaves, chopped onion, green chillies and stir.
  • Until the onions are tender add tomato pieces and mix well.
  • Then add cooked chikkudu ginjalu & stir, add turmeric, red chilli powder.
  • Lastly add the ground powder & let it cook for 2-3 mins with cover.
  • After that turn off the flame & transfer into a serving bowl.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve, serve with rice or roti.

Kanda Palak Curry / Elephant Yam Spinch Curry

Ingredients :

  • 1 cup Kanda Gadda Pieces / Yam Pieces
  • 2 cups chopped Palakura
  • 2 Green Chillies slit lengthwise
  • 1/4 sp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 sp Red Chillie Powder
  • 2 sp Tamarind Pulp
  • Salt to taste

For Popu :

  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Chana Dal
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • 1 Dry Red Chilli
  • Curry Leaves
  • 4 sp Oil

Method :

  • Combain yam pieces, chopped palakura cook on stove top or pressure cooker.
  • Let it cool for some time then remove the lid & mash the cooked yam mix.
  • Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry for about 2 mins.
  • Next add green chillies, curry leaves and stir.
  • Add tamarind juice, salt, red chilli, turmeric powder and stir well.
  • Cook for couple mins on low flame, then add cooked yam mix & stir well.
  • Let it cook for 2-3 mins and turn off the flame.
  • Kanda palak curry is ready to serve, serve with rice or roti.
